Sefa Jeroen Vlaarkamp, known by the stage name Sefa, recently played at Die Halle Tor 2 in Cologne, Germany. During his four-and-a-half-hour “This is Sefa” show, the DJ was joined by a group of guest artists. Technical support and the lighting design came from Guido Schütz of Laser Frame and Patrick Hirt of Creative Sounds Veranstaltungstechnik.

A big band and a small string quartet gave the impression of an elaborate show production, that went beyond the parameters of a standard DJ concert. However, the evening at the sold-out hall was rounded off with a 45-minute DJ set.

Commanding attention at the center of the stage was a grand piano, which was set up on a rolling platform. Four Chauvet Professional Rogue Outcast Beam 1 BeamWash fixtures were set up in front of the instrument to give it a “magical aura” - almost as if it had landed on the stage from a higher place.

Geometric patterns of light were created on the rake line of truss overhead. Light from an additional fourteen Rogue Outcast Beam 1 BeamWash units fanned out from this truss structure in a variety of different directions.
