Rock & Roll Hall of Fame breaks ground on 50,000 square feet expansion

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Museum’s Expansion Groundbreaking Ceremony took place at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s Union Home Mortgage Plaza & PNC Stage in Cleveland, Ohio, on October 5th, 2023.

 

Highlights included: Inductees alongside multiple state and local elected officials kicking off the groundbreaking of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s 50,000 square foot expansion with celebratory remarks that included the mention of the over 2 Billion Dollars in economic growth and development the museum has contributed to the region since its original groundbreaking thirty years ago; Snippet performances of each Inductee’s biggest hits by attending members; Quips by 1995 Inductee Martha Reeves (of Martha & the Vandellas) on the ongoing Detroit vs Cleveland friendly rivalry with a special shoutout to Mayor Justin Bibb.

 

Alongside Reeves and Bibb, attendees included John Sykes (Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation Chairman), Joel Peresman (Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation President & CEO), Greg Harris (Rock & Roll Hall of Fame President & CEO), Jason Stephens (Speaker of Ohio House), Jamie Callender (Representative), Blaine Griffin (Cleveland City Council President), Chris Ronayne (Cuyahoga County Executive), Sam Moore of Sam & Dave (1992 Inductee - Moore was at the original groundbreaking ceremony for the Rock Hall), Michelle Phillips of The Mamas and the Papas (1998 Inductee), Charlotte Caffey and Gina Schock of The Go-Go’s (2021 Inductees), and Wilson Phillips’ Chynna Phillips.
